Dr Tan is a currently a strategic consult to PTT (largest publicly listed company in Thailand) on new business development such as logistics, HALAL, durian and eastern fruit corridor, platform design and implementation, and senior faculty of management at Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, Thailand. Dr Tan is professional engineer member from IEAust., and ISO 9001 QMS lead auditor. Dr. Tan’s original engineering training was with the University of Wisconsin, USA, under US Naval research project scholarship, focusing on submarine propulsion system and combustion research, with publications in Q1, such as International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, Combustion and Flame. Dr Tan added doctorate in business administration from Southern Cross University, Australia, at the time he was managing a publicly listed company in Thailand, as vice president, for 10 years, responsible for company strategy, entire factory operations, human resource development, IT, engineering and ISO management system. He also served as group technical manager for Malaysian conglomerate Hong Leong Group (circa 20 billion USD in 1990s), Asia Pacific general manager for German and Korean companies. Specializing in the disciplines of strategic management, consumer behaviors, brand management, ethics, tourism and hospitality, in wide ranges of application fields such as supply chain and logistics, production and operations, services and education, and community development. Publications in Scopus Q1 to Q4, Springer (to appear in late 2021, neural networks), web of science, Thai tier one, and many other internationally peer-reviewed journals. Editorial boards, for instance, of the Undergraduate Research Center (Malaysia), ASEAN Academic Network, International Journal of Innovations & Research Analysis (IJIRA), and many more. Editor-in-chief, Journal of Social Science and Humanities (RMP Publications, Malaysia) and International Journal of Multidisciplinary in Management and Tourism (Thailand Journal System). Won Emerald best paper award in Buddhist related conceptual applications in management, consumer behaviors and brand management. Also, keynotes to many international conferences, supervised more than 100 post-graduate theses, serve as external examiner to PhD theses, and published numerous textbooks in domain of tourism, management, strategy and corporate social responsibility.
